Privacy Policy
Legal information and support for Pieceful in English (United States).
Effective date: October 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pieceful handles information when you use the App.
1. Privacy Summary
Pieceful does not require an account. Built-in puzzles, daily puzzles, photo puzzles, most gameplay progress, hints, sound and vibration preferences, and created puzzle files are handled locally on your device. Optional iCloud progress sync uses Apple iCloud. Developer-operated services hosted with Cloudflare provide remote content and a minimal advertising privacy-region classification. The App may use Apple services for purchases, purchase validation, iCloud, and ratings, and Unity LevelPlay, ironSource Exchange, and participating ad networks such as Unity Ads for advertising. Advertising privacy choices are managed by the App and passed to LevelPlay before advertising is initialized.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
The App may store photos you select or capture for photo puzzles, cropped puzzle images, puzzle progress, active puzzle records and snapshots, placed-piece state, tray order, piece rotation, completed levels, daily-puzzle settings and records, photo-puzzle completion records, hint state, tutorial-tip state, settings, iCloud sync preference, sound and vibration preferences, purchase-related status, transaction identifiers for paid theme resource access, downloaded theme resource indexes, review-prompt state, ad-frequency state, and consent-related state. This information is stored in the App sandbox. Only the limited information described below is sent to Apple iCloud or remote theme services when you use those features.
3. Photos, Camera, and Local Files
Photo-library access is used only when you choose a photo. Camera access is used only when you choose to take a photo. You can deny or revoke permissions in iOS Settings and continue using built-in and daily puzzles. Pieceful does not upload selected or captured photos to our servers, remote theme service, or iCloud progress sync.
4. iCloud Progress Sync
If you turn on iCloud progress sync in the App, supported puzzle progress, completion records, settings, and active built-in or daily puzzle snapshots may be synced through Apple iCloud for devices signed in with the same Apple ID. Turning sync off stops further syncing, but cloud snapshots already saved may remain. Photo-puzzle images and photo-puzzle active files are not included in Pieceful’s iCloud progress sync. Apple-controlled backups and other iCloud behavior may still follow your Apple settings and Apple’s policies.
5. Advertising and Consent
Pieceful may use Unity LevelPlay, ironSource Exchange, and participating ad networks, which currently include Unity Ads, to deliver banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads. Pieceful does not operate its own ad-delivery backend. Depending on SDK configuration, your choices, and iOS privacy settings, these advertising providers may process information such as IP address, approximate location inferred from IP address, device or advertising identifiers, device and App information, advertising and product interactions, crash or diagnostic information, performance data, and advertising privacy signals under their own policies. Learn more from Unity’s Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.
Before configuring advertising, the App requests a minimal regulatory category—GDPR, applicable U.S. state, or standard—from a developer-operated Cloudflare service based on the request’s source IP address. The response contains only the category. Pieceful does not receive the raw IP address or a country, state, or precise location in the response, and does not store those values in an application database. Cloudflare may process the IP address and request metadata to route, secure, and operate the service. If the request fails, the App first uses its most recently cached category and then, for a new offline installation, uses the device’s country setting only to identify a GDPR fallback.
For users classified in a GDPR region, the App offers three choices: personalized advertising, non-personalized advertising, or no advertising-data access. Non-personalized advertising permits the device access needed to deliver ads, limit how often they appear, measure performance, keep advertising secure, and prevent fraud, but does not permit interest-based personalization; the App sends a no-consent personalization signal to LevelPlay, skips the ATT prompt, and initializes LevelPlay for restricted, contextual, or non-personalized ads supported by the providers. If no advertising-data access is chosen before initialization, the App does not initialize LevelPlay or request third-party ads. If that access is withdrawn after LevelPlay has already initialized, the App immediately stops new ad requests and the choice applies fully on the next launch. For users classified in an applicable U.S. state, the App does not show a startup advertising choice. The “Advertising Privacy Options” entry in the Me tab allows the user to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising; the App passes that opt-out signal to LevelPlay and non-personalized ads may still appear. Applicable users can later review or change their choice in the same entry. Choices and the cached regulatory category are stored on the device.
App Tracking Transparency is separate from the advertising privacy choice. iOS may ask whether you allow tracking only when you choose personalized advertising and the system authorization state is still undecided. You can change that permission in iOS Settings. Denying tracking does not remove ads or stop you from using the App. Ads, if shown, are provided according to your advertising choice and the applicable iOS permission.
6. Purchases
If you buy “Remove Ads,” buy a paid theme pack, or restore purchases, Apple processes payment and account information. We may receive and store transaction status, product identifiers, and transaction identifiers needed to unlock or restore the feature and, for paid remote theme packs, validate access before issuing a download authorization. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
7. Remote Content Resources
The App may request remote content manifests, theme previews, signed theme download links, theme resource files, one higher-resolution image for a selected daily puzzle, and the advertising privacy-region category described in Section 5 from developer-operated services hosted with Cloudflare. Content requests may include a theme, date, version, or resource identifier and, for paid theme packs, Apple product identifiers and transaction identifiers so the service can validate access with Apple before issuing a short-lived download link. Cloudflare and Apple may process IP address, request metadata, device or network information, and security or delivery logs according to their own policies. These requests do not upload your selected photos, photo-puzzle files, or puzzle progress to our services. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy and Apple’s Privacy Policy.
8. Support, Ratings, and External Links
Selecting “Contact Us” opens your external email app and prepares a diagnostic template containing the App version and build, iOS version, device model identifier, App language, and a description of the latest active puzzle. You can review, edit, or remove this information before sending. If you send the email, your address, message, attachments, template information you leave in place, and email metadata are handled by your email provider and received by us for support. Rating links may open the App Store or Apple’s rating prompt, which are handled by Apple.
9. Analytics and Developer Servers
The current App does not require an account and does not send gameplay data, photos, or progress to a developer-operated gameplay server. We operate limited remote content services for manifests and resource downloads as described above. We do not currently operate our own analytics backend. Third-party ad, Cloudflare, and Apple services may process data as described above.
10. Storage, Retention, and Deletion
Local settings, progress, downloaded resources, and created photo puzzles remain until changed, removed by App functionality where available, or the App is deleted. Deleting the App normally removes its local sandbox. Apple-controlled device backups, iCloud backups, and optional iCloud progress sync may retain app data according to your Apple settings and Apple’s policies. Support correspondence is retained only as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support records, protect legal rights, or comply with law. Apple, Unity and participating ad networks, Cloudflare, and email providers determine their own retention periods under their policies.
11. Children
Pieceful is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children through developer-operated services. Parents and guardians should supervise photo, camera, ad, purchase, and email use. Contact us if you believe a child sent personal information by email.
12. Security and Choices
We rely on iOS sandboxing, Apple services, Cloudflare services, and reasonable development practices to protect data. You can control photo, camera, and tracking permissions through iOS Settings; where available, review or change advertising choices, including a United States sale-or-sharing opt-out, through “Advertising Privacy Options” in the Me tab; manage iCloud progress sync, sound, vibration, downloaded theme resources, and other available preferences in the App; and manage purchases through applicable Apple settings. No system is completely secure.
13. Privacy Rights and Legal Bases
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know or access personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, appeal a refusal, or complain to a data-protection authority, and to exercise rights without unlawful discrimination. Pieceful does not make legal or similarly significant decisions about you solely through automated processing.
To exercise a right concerning information we control, email us with the subject “Privacy Request” and describe your request. We may ask for limited information needed to verify the request and may retain a record of the request where required. Because Pieceful has no user account and much information remains on your device or is controlled by Apple, Unity and participating ad networks, Cloudflare, or your email provider, we may not possess the information you request; provider-controlled requests must be directed to that provider. You can delete local App data through available controls or by deleting the App, manage iCloud data and purchases through Apple, and control device permissions in iOS Settings. Rights may be limited by applicable exceptions.
Where applicable, processing is based on performing the service or purchase you request, our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and supporting the App, compliance with legal obligations, or your consent for advertising or tracking where consent is required. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already lawfully completed.
14. Disclosures and International Processing
We disclose information only as described in this Policy: to Apple, Unity and participating ad networks, Cloudflare, email providers, and other service providers needed to operate requested features; to professional advisers when necessary; to comply with law or valid legal process; to protect users, security, rights, or property; in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, or sale of the App or business; or with your direction or consent. We do not upload or sell your selected photos or photo-puzzle files. Advertising providers may process or disclose device identifiers and App or ad interactions for advertising and measurement as permitted by your choices and applicable law; some laws may define this as “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising even when no money is exchanged for your data.
Apple, Unity and participating ad networks, Cloudflare, and email providers may process information in countries other than your own. Those locations may have different data-protection laws. They process information under their own policies and applicable transfer safeguards.
15. Changes
We may update this Policy when the App, third-party services, or law changes. We will update the effective date and provide notice when required.
